1969 evinrude 115 model 115983s Hydro electric shift with all controls and good lower unit. everything worked as it should until it threw a rod. Don't think the power head is worth rebuilding since 2 left cylinders are bad after inspecting by pulling the head and lack of parts available. Looks like some of the stuff is rare and hard to find. should i try ebaying or craigslisting or something? should i try piece by piece or whole? what do you guys think something like this is worth?

Thanks for your opinions guys...

Shipping would be a deal-killer if you try to e-bay it whole. Better part it out.

as said, what you have that is now valuable, is the working controller DO NOT cut any wires. solenoids in lower unit. or complete lower. electronics.

Looks like i'll go the local craigslist route for the lower unit due to the shipping costs. I just can't find anything comparable to get a fair price idea. Does $250ish sound reasonable with the driveshaft, shifting mechanism with wires and knifeblade connectors intact along with a michigan 17 degree prop with no nicks or dings? I've never sold outboard parts before so any input would be greatly appreciated. I don't want people laughing at my ad when i post it if it's too high. then again i want to get as much as i can so I can get another motor eventually.
Thanks again..

Those elec shift lowers are hard to come by , should fetch decent money,
I'd sell the prop seperate.

With a bit of luck you'll make enough to get a new Etec.
Downpayment anyway.:p

250 is steep on the lower unit. 150 is a good price. i would put them on ebay, you will have a much better chance of selling them.
