What's it worth?

I have "aquired" a 1982 Sea Ray 19' 260Hp open bow. It is in good condition with some scratches in hull and one cushion needs recovering. It runs but needs a shift cable, or so I'm told. It will shift fine in the drive way with the water ears on but won't shift in the lake. This was one of those "seemed like a good idea at the time" deals and now with a teenage driver I have no time or money to mess with it. So, what is a fair price range? Thanks.

Personally, I think it's worth fixing, even if you plan to sell it. A good-running boat you can demonstrate to a buyer by taking him on the lake with it is worth a heckuva lot more than one that has some nebulous problem that "may be the shift cable..."<br /><br />I'd fix it, if all it needs is a cable. If it needs more than that, then selling it as-is may be a good option.<br /><br />Value? Value is whatever some buyer is willing to pay for what you have. Hard to determine.
