Re: whats it worth

I wouldn't hazard a guess what it is worth. Whatever you and the seller agree on is the value.
Just a couple of thoughts though. Was it really "rebuilt"? That term is often used loosely. And if it was truly "rebuilt", why did it need rebuilding and by who? True rebuilds only are necessary because of being worn out, burned up, ran without oil, stuff like that.

It was made by Chrysler and is a decent motor, but be aware that they are no longer made and parts are out there but sometimes not easy to find.

Under no circumstances is it worth more than five hundred bucks. About half if it runs is in the ballpark, maybe a little more. FR's very right about "rebuilt" being used loosely. Many people confuse rebuilt with tuned up. Rebuilt does not make a motor more valuable than if it was never rebuilt and in good running condition. It just restores it from scrap value to normal used value.

I don't know if it was rebuilt of tuned up but it runs pretty decent and gets my boat around good. I was thinking of offering him 150 for it. The only thing i have noticed is that it doesn't stay in reverse.
Thanks Brian

Any running outboard is worth a hundred and a half. Reverse? Who needs stinking Reverse. ;)
