Can anyone tell me what the outdrive gear ratio would be on a 1976 120hp Mercruiser === ENGINE Serial # 4479073 - OUTDRIVE Serial # 4525747

I can tell you it *should* be a 1.98:1 upper gear ratio.

What someone once put on the boat, who knows.

Ayuh,.... Originally, 1.98:1....

All the I4 Chevy motors run the 1.98:1, even current production models...

Bear in mind however, that gearsets can be changed, or wrong one's installed, and only real way to know is to count the gear teeth.

Just got the boat and trying to get all the boat specs recorded for future use.

If you give me the boat's top speed, prop pitch and RPM at top speed I'll put them into my prop calculator and it will give the ratio...

Or better yet, post that information over in the Prop forum, That's what it's there for.
