Hi all.
I have a 1971 Evinrude 60HP outboard (60173C) that has a bad Amplifier module and want to know what's the best one to replace it with. The wires are all frayed and shorted to each other. The Rectifier is also bad and has frayed wires as well. I just got the boat from a friend and thought I was just going to put it in the water and go, but that is not the case. I wanted to at least see the engine running before I invest any more money into it which is $200 already.
Also the remote has this horn looking device that I'm assuming is the alarm in case the motor over heats. I traced the wire back to a sensor embedded in the motor. I'm rewiring the boat, adding a fuse/switch panel, a car radio, some new lights and a power plug for any accessories.
Hey this boating stuff is really getting expensive.
Thanks for any and all replies.
