whats the best prop

i have 50 hp thunderbult igniton, numbers are 27395, 831-2t04.the boat its on is a 14ft wildcat v 67w3557. dont know the year of either looking to find the years and best prop. i just bought the boat and doesnt go fast at all 10mph.the guy i bought it from said its got wrong prop on ,the other one came off at the launch.ty

Must have a 2" pitch if it only goes 10 MPH.

thanks for help found the serial number 2011810 belive 68 motor.problum with prob is the origanal feel in canel from previous owner.he put a 3 blade 15 pitch 11 fin prop on ,dosent go good. he rebilt the engine and said the one that feel off was a two blade 13 pich.also said after rebild 13 to 11 pitch might be good.doat is a 14 foot fiberglass boat. looking for answers took out last week and took 45 minuts to get to hot fishing spot,should only take 10 min.the crappie are bitting in the back chanell and i got to get there but limited on time ty.. ps im going fishing this wekend so need prop ty lol

i put new prop on that i just bought ,same problum going slow,when i bought the new prop the man at the boat repair shop said put the pin in the second hole.i dont see where to put a pin . is it possible that iv been missing this pin from the begging.when i took the prop off that cam with the boat i took the nut off and washer and prop came right out no pin.does anyone have a diagram of how to put a prop on a 1966 thunderbolt 50 hp merc.i thought he was talking about the pitch pin. ty

Tk, he is talking about the tilt pin for the motor, it is the one that control's how much the motor is tilted on the transom of the boat. It should be in the second pin from the transom normally of the boat. That may help but you appear to have a motor problem. You need a tach to see how many RPM the motor is turning. He either did a bad job on the rebuild or something is not adjusted correctly, in my opinion.

ty i thought that was the pin he was talking about and i have bought 2 props still the same problum,so i also agree the rebild must not have gone good.bringing to motor repair shop.damit motor sounds good thats what got me. again ty

Are you sure the motor is running on all cylinders?
Sure sounds like its missing at least one cylinder to me.That is a 4 cylinder
You could even be on only 2 cylinders and not notice except for lack of power and a low idle.Could be just a plug wire off or even transposed.
