The head gasket was changed and mechanic says there still is water in one cylinder. There is a fued going on between the lady owner and the shop. The engine is a 1986 OMC 5 Liter 4 valve, (305 c.i.). After the repair was thought to be a failure, the mec. followed the boat on the water to observe the exhaust. He then repaired something on dry land, but the problem still exists. Thus the FUED started.

Well if he had the head off I'm assuming that he checked for water jacket cracks in the cylinder. This could be one cause. Another cause could be a crack in the exhaust manifold allowing water into the cylinder. And finally there could be a crack or a leaky gasket on the intake where it meets the head.

Good luck!
