same thing. yes, your lark is a 2 stroke/cycle. you fuel oil mixture should be 24:1 not 50:1.

BZ, Johnnyrudes prior to 1964 were made to run on a 24::1 gas oil mix. It was from a bullitin from OMC at that time.

There is a small chance that your motor is suitable for a 50::1 gas oil mix, since it is a 40HP Big Twin. I would PM Joe Reeves and ask him.

A 24::1 gas oil mix will smoke a bit more, but that is the extent of the effect.

if your suposed to run 24:1 and your running 50:1 it will smoke alright,,, The engine will be SMOKED!!!!!

Unless it's an E-Tec ... mine do not smoke at all ... zero (using XD100)!

2 stroke / 2 cycle = same thing, just a different term.
