They may not be that different in performance.The key number is the pitch.
typically props are aluminum or stainless steel.ss can produce better overall performance though al props do very well at about 1/3 the cost.
Diameter simply follows the design.Blade shape, contour,cup rake etc determines prop performance.Some props have bow lift some stern lift and other hole shot,top end etc.If you read the stickies here on the prop page and the helps on the prop store page it may help you understand props better.
