Johnson made two 115 hp 60 degree V4 motors in several years in the late 90's

one was called the OCEAN RUNNER
and the other was called FASTRIKE

one had a 500 rpm higher WOT and developed its HP at 500 more RPM as well

I looked up many parts and they are all the same number between the 2 motors,

heads, crank, pistons, block

the rev limiter was the same, the timing was the same( i have the manual which covers both)

the gear ratios are the same...

what is different that creates the HP at a higher rpm on the Fastrike ???

evinrude had the same situation , OCEAN PRO and INTRUDER

just curious

hope someone knows

Higher rpm models are usually a carb and cyl head difference.
