Doesn't show on the parts drawing. Is this on the gear shift cam? If it is, then maybe it's a mod made by the previous owner.

Its the threaded stud, below the green loop of wire in the photo. The stud is on the shift bracket.

Here's a parts drawing for the gear bracket.

Thanks. Well this would suggest that someone drilled a hole in the bracket and added a stud. Why on earth would this have been done?

Maybe they weren't getting the travel with the current setup?
Couldn't really see the pic you posted??

Thanks. Heres another pic. Could someone also confirm that I have these cables set up correctly? I went out to the lake yesterday and cant seem to hold forward unless I push the shift bracket manually, as cable seemed to pull short of full travel to forward gear (albeit, the cable isnt connected to control box yet as waiting for a part, so was shifting end of cable "by hand"). Thanks alot.

Once it clicks into gear, it shouldn't come back out by itself??
Maybe the dogs worn? Linkage needs lubed?

If someone added a second post they might have had trouble staying or reaching the gear?

Half way up the shift rod, there's a connector.
It can be adjusted to help the shift rod make a longer push?

Thanks. I lubed the linkage, and has new cables on it. It seems that it drops into gear if I shift the motor without the cable, at least when I check by rotating the propeller.
