I must say this particular question is for the ladies. Why, all of a sudden, are we hearing about all of these teachers having sex with their students? When I was in school an easy teacher meant she didn't give homework. Now they're running off to Mexico with little boys.

You know if it would be a man doing that with a little girl they'd cut off his head and shove the rest of the corpse under the jail.

What is our country coming to? A school used to be a safe haven, now that can no longer be said. I thought to write this thread after just hearing that yet another school shooting just occurred in Miami, and one teacher was shot. What's with the school shootings? Good grief.

No personal code of ethics is the problem. Is it because they are younger now than they used to be, poor upbringing maybe? Who knows, but they are vicimizing our children when they should be teaching them. I went to Catholic School and the nuns had a proper code of ethics.

I almost forgot to mention, they were also old and ugly. ;)

Few years back there was an extremly cute and young Elementry school teacher down the street.
About as much fun to talk too as a Baked Potato.
We got the new garbage cans for the automatic trucks. Big arrows..."POINT TO STREET" on the lid. Guess to her that meant DOWN the street, even though every OTHER can was pointed right. I know the garbage guy well. Cracked us up. Some times walking the dog, I'd turn it around right.. see if she got a hint. Nope, next week same thing. Took a few months for her to figure it out..(still a little cutie though!)..and still teaching in town..

Situational ethics perhaps? Moral relativism perhaps? No rules or no boundries perhaps. Hmmmm, wonder where that came from?

I can say LF has a point. Those women getting busted with little boys are hot! I NEVER had a hot teacher in 16 years behind the desk. Where were all these hotties when I was in school? Oh that's right, they were hotties in high school with me! LOL

My dad told me that there were fights in school when he went, but it was settled right then and there. Nobody later went home, got a gun and blew away their rival.

I must be one of the last of generation Y that got spanked. I didn't dare talk back to my parents or get in trouble at school. The school punishment was nothing compared to what was to be had once I stepped off of that bus.

I too went to Catholic School and so did my first wife...... I blame the internet! :D Could not tell if they were ugly.... not sure if they had real ears.... all we ever saw were wrinkles, puffy cheeks, stern eyes and a square jaw...... all which appeared to be between 99 to 199 years old!!!

There ain't nothing happening out there that ain't been happening for thousands of years already. You just hear about it these days because of people reporting the incidents. Whereas before people didn't know better or it was always hushed up. If you go back far enough it was just part of life.

Moral discipline has just about disappeared from our culture, along with discipline in general.

But, as JCF points out, this sort of thing has always happened to some degree. The national media (what there was, which was not much) didn't make a big deal of it and local media just plain hushed it up.

When I was in High School we had a practice teacher (they call them interns now) caught shacked up with a 17 year old Senior. Not a word in the local paper, no reporters. If it was not for the local grapevine nobody would have known about it at all.

When I was in high school....we had an english teacher.....if you were on the football team, you could get to know her real well.....word got out, she didnt show up one day..........though it was kept quiet, we all knew she had been transferred...........by the way, I was on the school newspaper, not the team.

As if this latest alleged incident isn't pathetic enough at face value,seems little Fernando was an illegal from Mehico.:rolleyes: Maybe she was just giving him a ride home from school.
