This is the prop I'm running now. The only marking on it is "1:9 C" stamped on the side between the blades. It fits very well, probably only an 1/8" gap between the prop and the gear case.

The boat came with a spare prop. The box is from US Marine, and has part number P686-1 and 13x19 dia/pitch on the box. The prop has "A625265" and "PS625" cast into it.
The new prop doesn't fit like the other prop. Note how the edge of the prop does not fit inside the gear case like the other prop does. It's sticking out about 1/2" with or without the thrust washer on the prop shaft.

Its the right spline count, but from this angle, it looks like its not sliding far enough onto the prop shaft. Some of the spline needs to be exposed to fit the flare end that came with it.

The old prop has the flared end as part of the prop, not a separate piece.

A view of the thrust washer/gear case end of the props. They look to be the same.

And here is the view with the flare in place.

So whats the story? Is this the wrong prop? Or am I not installing it right? Can anyone tell me what those numbers off the prop translate to?
Thanks!
Mark
