Mine is down the Delaware River through the C&D and into the Chesapeake Bay and then on to any port where I can get a Blue Crab. Usually an extended weekend...four days is better than two.

Re: What's your favorite boat trip?

One trip I have not made entirely yet (been in a boat on both ends of the trip) is going to the Keys leaving from my home in Tampa. I don't know if you meant a day trip or a week or so. It is like 360 miles, but my 18 footer wouldn't make it. The gulf coast of Florida is beautiful. And the water in the Keys speaks for itself. That water is crystal clear, and you can see straight to the bottom. If you are talking about day trips, I love going to Egmont Key, the water is clear there as well, and there is so much history on that island. It's amazing to look at, and 20 minutes from the boat ramp.

I've been on two trips up Hell's Canyon white water in my dad's jet boats. That is a fun weekend, lots of thrills and beautiful scenery... Some good trails to hike and lots of wildlife to see. And of course fish to catch.

I saw a TV program once about a mail run that had to be made each week on a similar body of water in a jet boat because it was shallow in various spots along the route...not a bad day ad work:)

San Juan Islands. You can spend weeks up there island hopping and never see everything.

Re: What's your favorite boat trip?

I have 2 that are local to me in Houston.

1) I have a condo just outside of Austin on Lake Travis (Funny thing is i got back from a week there about 2 hours ago). Sucks though the lake is 43 feet low right now.

2) Put in Clear Lake and make the trip to the bay and then over to the gulf. Go down to freeport and make the trip to the gulf posts (~10 miles into the gulf) then to the 3 main rigs. I have never waited more then 5 mins between each 21"+ red fish. And you can catch them non stop until you are out of beer or out of sunlight.

The Gulf, now that's one place that I plan on cruising one day. Wouldn?t mind catching one or two of those Redfish; may be when I convince my wife to do the loop staring on the east coast and through the interior us and back...still a few years off yet.

Mine is a fishing trip we have taken every year for the past 20 plus years. We take it the same time every year to the same place. There is 18 of us and over the years we all have moved away to different parts but we all come back together for this trip. It doesn't even matter if we catch fish, its just a bunch of friends getting together swapping lies and and drinking beer.:D

The last trip around the Harris Chain last weekend and my next trip around the Harris Chain tomorrow. We get out on the water every weekend we can weather permitting. Another good trip is starting at the bottom end of Lake Griffin and taking the Ocklawaha River up to the Moss Bluff Dam and back. We did this a couple of weekends ago...
