This is what happens when the mods think it's ok to sleep once in a while, lol.

I apologize for the rest of the i-boats members that did not attack you. It's your motor and frankly I am with you 100% about not donating it. Someone says donayte it and then you get villianized because you want to use a piece of your own property for yourself!?!? rediculous, lets drop this whole charity angle and try to help our fellow members out, not tell them what to do.

always a good idea to keep the glass houses principle in mind. anybody on here got more than 1 Starcraft? any argument on why anyone "should" donate their wheelchair motor to charity also applies to spare boats. or any boats....
IOW, i'm with Scipper on this. this forum is an incredible resource to help each other. let's not let it turn into a place where folks fear asking Qs or floating ideas for fear of a lot of criticism

What he wants to do with them is none of our Damn business

Bingo. Keep the discussion to the OP's original intent. There are some on here who are too willing to pass judgement.

I know, a crab pot hoist. That would be sweet on my boat.

Seeing the responses and suggestions for donations, then seeing the face palm smiley... It had me in stitches. I just thought of it in my head as characters talking from a cartoon.

There is nothing wrong with trying to find a use for something you have around your house/yard/garage. You don't have to donate everything and at least you're finding a use for it instead of just trying to throw it away.

No sweat just keep doing what you do and don't let people get to you.

A piece of advice and take it or leave it but internet fighting ranks up there with idle threats. Nothing comes out of it and it's a waste of time haha. Have a beer and don't sweat the small stuff.

As far as an idea for the motors. Do you have a bow mount electric motor? Maybe it can lift that up?

I don't see that motor pulling in an anchor even if geared right. Then again I guess if you make the boat really light it may work? I know the rivers around me that motor would smoke trying to pull my Dads 21 footer.

A crab line retriever may be a good idea actually. If it runs slow enough it frees your hands to use a net and it's a nice even pull so it won't scare a crab.

the pull is not what scares the crabs, it's the boiling water.....lol
