This saturday night and Sunday morning I was asked to help a friend out and install some televisions in a bar/restaurant before the Super Bowl. My buddy tells me that the owner is going to pay me $16 an hour to do the work. I figured it woud take me about 7 hours and with the money I could take the little lady out to eat.
There were 6 old 27"Sony Tube televisions already installed, with tube mounts going through a drop cieling and up into the rafters. So I got all the televisions down and removed the mounts.
I replaced them with 6 42" Panasonic Plasmas, all with swivel wall mounts. I got them all up and running in about 7hours total. I had no real issues except for spiting and running some extra cable through the cieling. They looked great. (I'll get some pics next time I go in there).
As I am leaving and packing up my ladders and tools the owner comes up to me and tels me what a nice job I did and hands me $400 cash. SO what I thought I was doing for $16 was $60 an hour.
Best thing is he wants his other restaurant done in 2 months.8)
