I have a 1977 Mercury 850, 85 horse power that I bought last year.
It ran okay last summer, but before this summer I am servicing as much of the motor as I can do myself.
This weekends project was the fuel pump.
I spent only $2.75 on a new fuel pump diaphragm kit and 30 minutes installing it.
I'm very glad I did because this is my old diaphragm with a tear in the middle:
