I am kicking around the idea of doing a repower on my boat. I would like to keep the business in the USA if I could, so my question is where are the new E-TEC motors made?

Re: Where are they made??

With the bankrupcy of OMC there are no American outboard makers other than Mercury anymore, maybe look into a Verado.
Nothing is actually made in America any more, things are assembled from parts from 10 different countries.

Re: Where are they made??

Bombardier Recreational Products, maker of Evinrudes, has plants around the world. Including USA and Canada. As for what part is made where, only they know.

I'm not so darn sure that Mercury is made here either.

My 2008 90hp says Sturtevant Wisconsin on it. Also, see the press release below. I'd say they are made (or at least assembled) in the USA.

BRP wins Wisconsin Governor's New Product Award for its Evinrude E-TEC outboard engine

Outboard engine technology takes First Place and Best in State

(Sturtevant, Wisconsin, April 20, 2005) - Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. (BRP) was presented with the 2005 Wisconsin Governor's new Product Award, receiving "first place" and "Best in State", for their Evinrude E-TEC direct injection two-stroke outboard engine manufactured in Sturtevant, Wisconsin. The award was presented by Mary P. Burke, Department of Commerce Secretary, on behalf of Governor Jim Doyle.
