I've noticed that our Northern neighbors and other people that buy by the liter have costs way above even the highest here in the USA.... that is TAXES.... OK, I noticed it 20 years ago

Everyone buys at the same commodity price which is set world wide on the commodity exchanges, then it's mix and match for additives, and shipping to match the local.

For example, California has pollution controls that dictate a mix of additives that drive up the price, and because of that, it makes it a small market... respectively.

Here on the mid left coast we have gas stations that at the slightest bad news anywhere in the world, that COULD affect the supply of crude, refined product, or by-product of the refining process (diesel) jump the price at the pump, within minutes of the news.

For example, when BP announced that they had a problem with their Alaskan pipeline and would have to shut it down, 20 cent bump across the board within a ½ hour of the news. Did the price drop down when BP said it would only shut down half of the pipeline???... price went up another nickel. I was wondering why they jacked the price a nickel again yesterday morning, when I got home and looked at the news. I understood, these skumbags at the gas stations are tuned into world events just to raise the price of the fuel... no relation to the commodity price... heII, it’s lower than it was 3 months ago... are you 3 months back on your costs?

Study the prices of fuel for the last year, does it relate to what you’ve seen at the pump?

Oh... Fair market value in most locals is 60 to 80 cents above commodity price depending on trans costs and additives to meet Gov standards... at the pump... add taxes of course....

The funny thing is the goverments dont want to lower the gas prices becouse thay are just reaping the rewards from us paying more taxes on the higher pump prices.

ss marie ontario 1.03 a litre,ssmarie michigan 2. 99 a gallon. if i go across the river and fill up from empty i can get an extra 5 gallons of gas for free vs. filling up in canada.the dealers in soo canada are nothing but theives and i will buy my gas from the u.s. theives instead. lol. but wait ,the long weekend is coming up soon, so prices will be rising in the following week.and they say theres no collusion amongst the gas companys,what a laff. were sitting on some of the largest oil reserves in the world and they still screw us.they keep telling us we should be paying world prices, what do i care what they pay in england,at the last time i looked at a map we were still part of north america.at the very least we should be on par if not cheaper than the u.s. yes we have a lot less people,so you sell the gas here cheaper and export the rest at world value.also i wonder how many u.s. citizens stay away for canada because of high gas prices,and when that idiotic passport requirement comes into effect in 2007 oboy.i know im not getting one and im sure lots of americans feel the same way.not one of the 9/11 cowards came into the u.s. from canada but that didnt stop the panic mongers from distorting the truth atall.

was just down to Lake Shasta the first week in August. 87 octane, on the lake, was 6$ a gallon. We spent more money running the houseboat generator (for A/C) than we did running the houseboat. And oh, how that new 4bbl Holley hurt my pocketbook while running my 20 ft Gulfstream. It was tons of fun running it in the higher rpms but I learned real quick to stay out of the secondaries.:'(

...and oh, at least in the USA, most gas taxes, state and federal, are fixed amounts. If anything their revenues decline, with high prices, as people cut down on the amount they use.

Wheres all this ranting and complaining coming from?? Lol, Actually I totally understand. But at the same time, Ya gotta "Pay to Play", so I guess Ill just keep dumping a Ben Franklin Every weekend till its Too cold to do it any more. And Ill wait to see how high it is next year.

Oh, and back to the topic: Its 2.83-2.93 for 85 octane, 2.93-3.03 for 89, 3.03-3.13 for 91. :devil: And Deisel is freakin 3.65.. Im in Southern Idaho.

$2.73 for regular in southern Minnesota today. $2.33 for E-85.

preimium here is $1.18/ litre x4 = $4.64/ us gallon. And this is in the middle of oil country where most of canada gets it. :'( regular is still a buck 10

Just north of Toronto road gas is actually down right now about 89.9 litre (about $3.20 USD gal) but marina gas is still around $1.20 litre :'( Our marina sets his pump price according to what he pays at delivery and it doesn't change until the next delivery.

$2.74(Just went up from $2.67 3 days ago) for reg. unleaded in the St. Louis area. Was $3.49 on the water a week ago...It does vary alot from station to station on land...

Wish I could say the same here... I had to go 78 miles North the other day... Diesel at Safeway, after 3 cent discount was $3.40

Filled up at Bloomsdale Mo. Yesterday paid 2.46 per gallon, closer to St. Louis it is about a dime higher due to what they have to add to the fuel for environmental reasons.
