So I installed 4 speakers, all on the front benches pointing toward the center.

But I have not run the boat yet. Just realized, I bet you can't hear the radio from the helm with the motor going!

I've got two in the front benches (actually about 8ft back form the bow on a 24' pontoon) and two in the rear benches (one about at the 16' mark Port and one at about the 20' Mrk stbd). We can hear it everywhere.

I have a 24ft toon, I have two up front one in each bench seat and two in back one on each side of the "L" shaped couch. When I am cruising I don't usually have the radio/cd playing loud anyway....to me its annoying just because the motor, kids, and the radio don't work well for me. Mine sounds great when relaxing in a cove....there isn't a bad spot to sit and relax.

I have a set forward, a set aft (all located on the lounge bases, and another set outside the rear fence. I also have a remote control on the port rear quarter to control the system while in the water.

I can hear the system very well while underway.

I have found that without an amp its kinda hard to hear it while running, I also replaced the radio with a cheapie $ 99 CD/radio/speaker kit and I have to put the volume at about 40 to even hear it

Sounds like I should move one set of speakers from the front to the back bench. (The benches have openings in them, where I put the speakers, so when I remove them, there is only the screw holes left) I'll do that before putting it in the water. ( When it stops raining!)
