Where can I buy a "Key Resistor" for OMC 4.3?

Test per the book says might be bad.

And where is it on the boat?

Thanks

You had this explained in your previous post. It is NOT a "key resistor" it is a "ballast resistor" and may be a length of resistance wire in the engine wire harness or it may be a separate ballast resistor. They do the same thing. At this point you have not proven that's the problem. You were asked if you have 8 volts at the coil or whether you have an 8 volt drop. Which is it? And even if there was an 8 volt drop that doesn't point to a bad resistor since they generally don't change value. They either open up or they work.

Well my manual does call it a Key resistor.

The cause of the stalling was:

1) Fuel/Air setting on carb mixture screws

2) Hot due to weak impeller and possible incorrect thermostat. I will monitor thermostat and temp

How many V's do you have at the + coil terminal while the engine is running? It's a simple test Kip. What's the number? Should be 7-9 or real close to that.

If your manual says Seloc or Clymer on the front, that would explain that. It's not called a "Key Resistor"!
