Hey Everyone,

Does anyone know where I can find the Rubber O-rings/gasket for deck plates? All of the rubber O-rings have fallen apart, but I cant find replacements anywhere.

I have only found places that sell the entire deck plate around $20. I just need the rubber O-rings... A few 6" dia, (1) 8" dia. and (1) 4 1/2" dia. - I would think somewhere has them for a couple bucks each?

Just for clarification, most I/Os have a Pry Out deck plate in the floor above your gas tank. I would need that thick O-ring, plus few thinner ones for the Twist out deck plates.

Any help would be appreciated.

What brand? Most offer replacement rings in their catologs.

If worst comes to worst you can always measure them and buy diect from someone like McMaster Carr

The boat is a 2005 Bayliner Trophy. The deck plates do not have any brand or part number stamped on them. They are original to the boat.

I have looked in many store online catalogs, but can only find the whole assembly being sold. Even in the Bayliner Part manuals, they dont give a part number for the O-rings...just a part number for the deck plate assembly.

Go to a truck garage and they usually have o ring kits and can make one.... bring the plate.

A quick google search for "o rings online" yielded many promising leads.

Been there, done that.

Forget about the automotive kit o-rings. The o-rings used in deck plates are made from a very low durometer, rubber foam like, material.

The "automotive" type o-rings will not compress enough to fit in the mounting ring without an extraordinary amount of effort, if at all. If you somehow manage to get it in, getting it out is an entirely different adventure. Just pray you don't have to get it out in a hurry.;)

This is likely a dead thread but I came across it in my search for a replacement o-ring. I found them quite reasonable at Dusky Marine. http://www.duskyonline.com/gaskets-orings.html
I gave them a call and they agreed to mail it to me USPS rather than ship via their standard method, which made the purchase even better. Thanks Dusky.

Hope this helps someone else.

Just in case someone else reads this......you can buy o-ring cord from seal supply houses, hydraulic supply, etc.. in many different diameters and durometers....put it in the groove, cut it on a diagonal and glue it with CA (super glue). It's pennies per/ft.
