Long story short I got this motor from the side of the road, played around with it, and realized I had no spark.

Ohmed out the points and realized they weren't opening just staying closed pulled the fly wheel realized that part that looks like a CAM LOBE in the pic I attached with the arrows pointing at it is missing.....So I am wondering if thats something I would be able to get? Looking at parts diagrams I can't seem to find that part....

Any help would be great!

Just checked - looks like last year for points was 1976. Cam is the same for all 9.9hp points motors: Part number 318929. About $40. Make sure there's nothing else missing like the crankshaft seal and/or bearing assembly.

I don't get it---if the cam is missing, how did you manage to take a picture of it?

If I understood his post correctly, that is not a picture of HIS motor.

So I would need 20/15/13?

Not unless they're missing - in which case the motor would be apart, as I'm not sure the upper bearing can be removed without splitting the crankcase.

I can look - I may have the cam somewhere...

I had a pic of my actual motor on my phone and it looks as if the cam is missing and everything is intact....but before I spend the $40 I wish I knew why it went missing

So you got this thing off of the side of the road? That's unusual to say the least.

I realize that, but I do not need to replace the bearing......
