I have a 1989 force 85hp I need the seal bellows it goes on the lower end .( shift shaft seal) idid some research and i think its a f model part number is f694618. I like new but I take a used one if I have to . another number superseed the first is fk721706. thanks so much russ

I don't think it's available.
They sell a replacement kit.
It replaces the whole shift cover.
They had all kinds of trouble with the bellows.
You'll need to contact Mercury Outboards.
Have a Model# And a Serial#
They can help.
Maybe someone on this site can help with the parts #s.

thanks everyone i found a place that had the plate and new style seal. he said the bellows was nothing but trouble so force went to the new set up. now can someone tell me how to install plate and shiht rod? is this a hard job that needs to go in a shop?

Shouldn't be.
Just use PB BLASTER for a day or 2 then,very GENTLY try to remove the screws.
They only have 5-7# of tourqe so if they don't come loose easily they will break.
Let us know if they don't come loose easy??

I hope you found this part somewhere. I called Mercury direct on 9/16/13 and the Rep said they have not made this part for about five years now. It is NLA on all the suppliers websites that I checked. I cannot believe with all the Force engines out there they don't make this part anymore, and the after-market parts suppliers don't at least produce a few thousand old style bellows to limp us along. I would check with any and all little repair shops out there in case they have one sitting on a shelf somewhere. Expect to pay about a hundred dollars to replace an originally six dollar rubber bellows if you do find the retro-fit. Good luck.

If you have to replace the shift shaft you might need to rent a engine puller from a rental company. I had to pull my engine apart to replace the shift shaft on my 120. I used a harmonic puller and screwed it in the Fly wheel screw. Then I used chain/rope to go through the puller and attached to the engine puller. Took me about 30 minutes or so. I had to do this to switch my Force 120 from a 3 claw clutch to a 6 claw clutch.

I am running into the same problem trying to get the part you described. My bellow is also badly damaged and need to replaced seems like the whole plate.
