Few years ago, took myself my Mom and my two girls to the Missippi river for a week on our then 24 ft pontoon. Had a enclosure made good to go. X then husband trailered us there dropped us of and went home. Semi smart we also took a car. <br />Rented a slip at a marina off the river in an back water. <br />Had just run into town to eat. On way back to hotel and boat major wind thunderstorm hits. So hard it blew a hayrack over on a suspension bridge. K Mom you and kids stay at hotel I am going to check on boat at marina. <br />Get there start walking to dock that I though boat was at. Look No boat, walk to other end ok maybe they had to move it. no boat anywhere!!!! PANIC now. Look up and down the back water. There she blows floating nicely into a stump field. <br />Well turns out the corner piece cleats ripped right off the boat. My ropes and cleats were still on the dock. <br />Thankfully owners with jon boat were on site and headed off to retrieve my run (blow away) boat. <br />Any much longer and she would have hit current and been headed to St Louis. <br />Lesson learned? Lots<br />After that experience i only used the eyelets molded into the tubes. That enclosure was nice and comfy but also a GREAT sail.
