1989 125 hp force
i was reading in my manual that there is a screw you do not
remove to drain the oil as it is a shift pin but when i looked i
looked and looked and there was only 1 screw on the lower
end of my motor i removed it i hope it was the right one
(it was the only one and three of us were looking)
anyways it was on the rounded part of the lower end and
the opening was recesed a bit and the screw was about an inch long
i have used the boat since and it went into gear good and worked fine
other than the fact i would not speed up (but i am told that i a carbourater
problem which i will fix soon ) anyways would it be that i got the right
screw or possibly that it went back into place i have also put the motor in gear and tried to turn the prop
by hand and it would not turn easily you could hear the compression on the motor as
i turned it over im guessing that is a good thing also when in neutral it turns real easy
that should be a good thing should i be checking things out down there when i chance the impeller ?

PLEASE PLEASE tell me some good news
Sorry new to the boating thing and boy there is alot to learn

The screw you removed was the wrong one. Yours will be located underneath the gearcase. It may be an allan head screw or a small flat head screw.

TMD
