that hose connection did not come on any OMC drives - it was a dealer-sold service option for those wishing to run their boats on the trailer. It does exactly what the $4 flush tee will do.

yes, but you can make your own oe type . it is really easy. looks like the one don s posted, use it on my 78 stringer. yes could use muffs, but it's there always when i need it.

tee one of theses flush tees into your hose from the drive to the thermostat housing so you can attach a garden hose. Also handy for doing quick impeller performance checks. - under $10 at most auto parts stores

I've had two stringers which I used this $8.00 contraption.... I've never had a problem with it burning out my motor or impeller.
