where do I set my floats on johnson 112 ?

1994 johnson 112. Darn manual says to set the carb floats "in between the marks on the OMC float gauge". Naturally, I dont have one. Im going to guess that when held upside down, the float surface should be set exactly level with the gasket surface of the carb. Is this correct??

Yep.....just make it a hair high in front. Have the needle in place when setting also.
