Welcome Jambla! I have a Jet Star too ('64) but looks a lot different since yours has been modified. I'll be interested to see what you do with it. What year is it, or did I miss that above?...Edit...Oops, 1968..

Lakelover,
Its nice to see what the boat looked like originally. Most of my fishing is done in northern Ontario on a large turbid lake. How well do these things handle a good chop?

Welcome from a fellow Jet owner.

Yours has certainly gotten a complete work over and an interesting one.

I am taking a bit different approach and trying to restore mine to somewhat original. Look forward to seeing how you get yours to what you want.

Hope you will join us in Lake Anna in June.

Albert,
Those are great photos. I see that the floor was originally curved near the bow. I'll bet that is hidden by a storage compartment in mine. That's someting I'll have to deal with because I'll want that floor flat for sure. I can tell all you guys are going to be a great source of advice for a first timer. I appreciate everybodys interest and advice.

I really can't say, I've never had it on the water yet. My open SF14 (in my avatar) has a nearly identical hull design and is great with any type of water I've encountered. The lake I boat on is about 1.5 x 3.5 miles. I've heard it said that the top front deck is integral to the hull's stiffness & stability, but can't really say whether this is so myself.

Hello,
I have never put pics up on this web sight...see if this works...I used stainless steel fender washers...drilled the center hole larger for the push/pull switches and stamped the lettering onto them

Lakelover, I got to believe your right about that. I'm hoping i can regain some of that strength with a properly anchored and braced dash and also the proposed front storage, and there will no doubt be a small deck at the bow big enough to mount the trolling motor and running light on. If these dont help I suppose the next step would be a beefier top rail. Appalachian engineering? At least I haven't mentioned JB Weld yet.
