Go to some place where unlike Wisconsin ice out is before the 4th of July and the summer lasts longer than 3 weeks.

It really doesn't rain that much in the summer here....Just make sure to bring 3 umbrellas
That area is CHOCK full of history, is on the water and isn't that far south (per LF's suggestion RE: the Mason Dixon line.)
Get the full year Colonial Williamsburg pass - more bang for your buck and lets you enjoy Jamestown and Yorktown also! Enjoy!
