Where do you like to prop your boat?

Currently have a 23ft Monterey bow rider with a 350 mag and bravo 3 with 26p props. My boat currently hits 4900 loaded with our normal load. The boats rpm range is 48-5200 from the factory. I’m thinking about picking up as set of 25p props to get to the 5200 mark. Does that sound right, or should I leave or be?

Really depends on how you use your boat I’m assuming the performance currently is reasonably satisfactory? If like me you prefer more hole shot for water sports etc. It may be worth trying a set of 25s. I think some folks on here with bravo threes have had luck with the hill marine 4 x 4 set up and they allow you to try different pitches till you get it right

On where, I prop 2 strokers at the top or a tad above depending on the engine. On 4 stroke pushrod engines I would probably set it in the midrange with the average load carried in the boat. Doing what you suggested will improve you hole shot and get up speed for water toys.

'Cuz she's paying the bill at the gas dock?:)

Other than that, it makes no difference what others are doing. There's no firm "right" answer here. Set your priorities and prop for them....

I think you’re spot on, where you are. Doesn’t get too much better. If you really want to play around, you’ll need to make sure you know exactly rpms and not ball park, like the dash will only allow. A 350 mag mpi running close as that to 5000 rpm loaded and seeing nearly 50 mph gps…doesn’t get much better, I’d suggest. If you drop down to 25” you’ll be on the limiter, use more fuel too.

also depends on the load you typically have in the boat, light load 4900 is fine but with a full load going little higher may help.

If the going gets rough due to high waves or hull design that doesn't support soft riding, she probably doesn't like getting "things" bounced around. I had that problem with my wife. I traded boats and never heard another squak out of her.
