I strap mine down to the sunpad with a line going from one stern cleat, through both handles, and over to the opposite cleat. If we stop to lounge for a bit, I simply untie the straps, tie a line from the tube to a cleat, and toss it overboard to give more boat space. By not deflating it, an air pump is one less thing to take up valuable realestate in my boat (I carry enough stuff as it is!).

On my old boat I had an inverter and a 110v pump - Worked great - I tried a couple different 12v pumps on this boat and have not been satisfied at all, Any reccomendations on a GOOD 12v pump?

We have a huge tube called "Big Mamma" (Costco's version of "Big Mable"). It is the size a a couch and takes a while to inflate/deflate with our 12V inflator. We usually find a nice beach and set-up camp -- EZ-up, chairs, coolers, etc... and leave the big tube on shore when we are not using it. It also works great as a floating coach to lounge on while we are beached.

This is the pump we use: Airhead HP Air Pump - 12v
Had it a couple of seasons now, does a great job of blowing up or deflating big tubes really quickly (does a seadoo big kahuna 4 tube in no time), and its very compact. The only downside is it draws a lot of amps, so it has to be hooked directly to battery posts.
I guess I don't have the storage issues some boats have. I have excess space all over, and I carry a ton of stuff.

With the herd of grandkids we have, we bought a Great Big Mable just last week. No room to store that thing! When we were done with it I just tied it up with the front half on the diving deck and let the rear half ride in the water, no problem. If the kids wanted to stop & just swim, it got used as a lounger.

Seriously check out the Coleman cordless units. I got one at Wally World for less than $20 and it has enough juice on a charge to inflate tubes all day long. Comes with attachments to inflate smaller air matresses, too.

In the garage - tubing sucks, teach them to ski ;)

I love you man!

what a comment on children today. we learned a skill, they sit on their butts while someone else drags them around while they text their friends.

I tubed as a kid in the 80's... what "children today"? Maybe I'm not old or disgruntled enough yet to understand.

There will always be tubers, skier's, boarders; who cares.
