Where does it **** from?

I just got a 70s Evinrude 80 H.P. and changed the water pump with no problem,but Im not sure where the water intake and exhaust is to know if its working?

Water outlet is just above and to the rear of the cavitation plate, bunch of slots on either side of the leg.<br /><br />the pickups are much lower under the cav plate on each side.. they have plastic grills in them to stop gunk getting through..<br /><br />Do NOT start the motor without either being in the water, or putting on water muffs.. it can take less then a minute to destroy a brand new impeller when run dry.<br /><br />regards<br /><br />Frank
