at what point on a 2005 Bombardier does the oil get injected into the system. If it is after the carbs then it should not hurt to run gas out of the engine before storing, right?

What motor? If you're talking Etec, don't run it dry. The carbed motors (Johnson) mix oil and gas, then the mix goes through the induction system. Etec's have the oil directly injected to a number of internal locations and do not mix oil with the fuel at all.

mine is a Johnson Bombardier 2005 90 hp and has about a 6 quart oil injection storage tank so it must inject the oil. I maybe miss stated what I want to learn. At what point before the firing chamber does the oil get injected or is it injected before carbs???

at the OMS/Fuel pump before the carbs. add seafoam to your fuel, to keep carbs clean.

This is a DI engine, no carbs just throttle shutters. Your answer is it injected a various points on the block. As Wilde1 said do not run it dry, just add fuel stablizer to your fuel and you will be OK. I suggest Stabil as you can run year round. If you run the XD100 oil you will never have to decarbon engine. If running XD50 or XD30 they have carb-x additive to help cleaning, but should be decarbed @ 100hrs

Your fuel pump is a combination oil pump, too. It mixes the correct amount of oil inside the fuel pump chamber and then delivers the mix to the carburetors.

Here is a link with a good picture and explanation of the system.

Nope, DI engines do not mix oil and gas. Fuel is injected into pocket on top of piston. Oil and air is mixed in crankcase. Piston is modified like a 4 stroke with oil holes to lube clyinder walls. NEVER mix oil in fuel in a DI engine as Injector flow will be affected.

is there a way I can positively confirm the type of motor I have? When I initially looked it up i thought it had carbs. All I know for sure is that it is a 2005 90hp Johnson. It is dark grey and on a 175 Trition which is dark grey. It is a beautiful set up.

Your motor is probably a carbed one. Look for the float bowls (likely black plastic on your motor) with the air silencer removed. Also, look for the OMS pump ... its a rather large oil/fuel pump. Check the BRP website and look at the parts list for your motor for more info.
