where does the wires go????

i need to know where the first cylinder is and so on...... i have a v4 johnson 75 hp if u do know can u tell me where to stand so im looking at it correctly please thanks

Standing in back of the engine, facing the spark plugs, the cylinders are marked as follows.

2.....1

4.....3

thanks alot........ do u know how to time it????? and also i have spark but when i turn the motor over it doesnt fire i put some starter fuel in it and it still dont start any suggestions????

Unless you've had that timing belt off, the timing should be okay.

Check compression. What are the readings?

Spark plugs out..... check spark to jump 1/4" gap with a strong blue spark on all cylinders. What do you have?

i havent done a compersion test yet!!!! i did have the motor running the other day and i do have spark on all the plugs and i just replaced the cap (very pricey) i had to tear the motor down and replace the gaskets..... i had water getting in the spark plugs..... how do u test the coil to see if it is putting out the right amps???

If you have spark coming directly from the coil that will jump a 1/4" gap with a strong blue lightning like flame.... a real SNAP, the coil is okay.
