Where does water exit on 1973 9.8?

I got my 1973 9.8 110 finally running good. I had it running in a garbage can and could not see any water coming out of the exhaust. Where does the water exit? Thanks - Mark

staring at the face of the motor it exits on the left side, if you really cant find it just take the hood off and find the water exit tube, you should see it come off the top of the head or the exaust and go to the water exit fitting.

that is just the telltale though, the block fills up with water and exits the telltale and lets us know that your motor is pump water correctly, the rest (most of) the water comes out the exaust

Is there a thermostat in this motor? Maybe I didn't run it long enough to open. No water came out of the exhaust.
