The sad thing is that this is only a light snow fall. And it's not our first. The other stuff melted in the rain. At the angle of the camera, I won't even be able to see that truck across the street in about a month. It will be all snow banks. Like these two pics from last year.

There is absolutely no way I could live in those conditions... We get about 3 inches at one time and the whole friggin town shuts down....lol

You can have some of this.

.

We look like this, and today, friends of mine that live year around on an island, came in by boat to stock up for freeze up.

Here I have boated up to thier place Dec. 9th, (with a fake X Mas tree) and have visited them Dec 15th by truck with a snow plow.

Break up is even more scarey. April 15th I have visited them by truck (with snomobile in the back) and April 15th by boat

The winter is bad enough, but most lakes will stay frozen until May. It's usually the last weekend in May or first of June before the road dries up and is good enough to drive on without sinking to your axles. I have to drive 14kms (around 9 miles) on a dirt road that usually takes me 45 minutes to take my boat over. It's very rough in the spring and fall.

Our lake usually goes out the first week of May here. But you usually don't travel on it until X Mas by sled, New years by truck.

That being said, I have sunk 1 truck X Mas eve 2000, (5th trip) but those rule generally are safe.

I went out past my trucks hole 2 days later, with a truck atleast 700lbs heavier, past my hole by 400'. Took my wife and kids to the cabin, for 5 days for winter vacation

Now I wait until I see tracks before I go out on the ice.

Rats, winter found us. High around 20, snow on the ground this a.m. Not very much, just enough to track a deer if need be. Highs are supposed to stay around 20 this week and drop in the teens next week.... 40's one day, 20's the next....... Lakes should start freezing next week too....

Got a little dusting here, just enough to tease a snow fan.
I'm ready just got some real sweet new winter boots yesterday and some hot new snow pants on the way. Snow Go is full of gas/oil and all I need is some snow.

I love snow so much I was thinking of moving to Marquette Michigan.
