I just purchased a brand new EZ Loader Trailer (6-TEZ102b 19-22/24 5, 5200lbs) , for my 22 and a half foot Stratos. Before I load the boat for the first time, I was wondering how do I know if the bunks are placed correctly. I was assured by the dealer that there is enough clearence above the bottom of the trailer.

The question is, how do I adjust the bunks for the first time bringing the boat out of the water. Or should I leave it as is and do a test run and then see what needs to be readjusted after the fact.

Thanks in advance for all the help..

Belchy

The key to this is knowing the construction of your boat. Check with the manufacturer of the boat to see what they recommend. I would set the bunks directly underneath the boat's stringers which should be the strongest part of the hull.

Your bunks should be parallel. If they aren't then you will be pinching your hull as you winch it on.

Without seeing the boat it's not easy to describe, but since your boat is a typical bass boat the bunks should run on the inside of the second strake. Does that make sense? Also, make certain the bunks extend past the transom by an inch or two. Many boat hulls have been deformed by having bunks that are too short. Hooks wind up in the stern area and they can cause handling issues.

UFM82

They should have requested the make model and year of your boat (EZ-Loader) or the dealer should have. They then set the bunks etc for that specific boat if they have the specs for it. If not they usualy request specific measurments of your boat to set it up correctly.
