How many people will be fishing with you?

Invite your buddies over and set everything up just like you'll be fishing, that means gear, cooler, tackle, downriggers, rods, etc. Now try to get around in the boat, plus see where everyone will sit, stay there for at least 1/2 an hour.

In my CC the console is too far back and there's not enough seating for more than two people and even that's crowded. I've contemplated moving mine forward, if it was just the glass work I'd do it this weekend, but it requires new wiring, cables, steering and fuel lines, so I've been putting it off.

I will have a max of 4 people. That is my Dad, 2 other people and me. Of course, the other two people will be riding in front of the console. :p

also think about how far forward the fuel tank will be versus where the old tanks were.. and that you are adding about 16 more gallons ( if you had 2 18g)

I voted leave it.. but depending on where the fuel tank goes, within 1' of the front engine mount, or 3'..

if 1' then I'd move the console about 1' futher then where the old console was front-back.

if the tank is forward more, then I would leave where it is, or move it back about 1'.

Looking at the pics I think the best way to determine where to place the console will be to add your seating area in and then ask yourself if you have enough room to do what you want to do in the stern of the boat. It may be a bad angle, but looking at where the console currently lies I think that once you add a bench to sit on the rear will be a little cramped. As far as the weight difference I dont think you are going to be in any real trouble if you move the console forward, think about how much the engine and drive weigh.
