Re: where should i post?

You may buy an ad in the Boats Classifieds. Otherwise you may not. Remember that this is a retail store. We don't particularly appreciate people using this free board to compete with us.

Put your post on (( CRAIGSLIST)) This is read by most interested in Starcraft items and, you can list on there sites Starcraft boats when looking and thats all you will see. Hope this helps

I can't imagine any forum that would really appreciate you joining just to post up stuff for sale. That's called "spam".

Re: where should i post?

this will be my last post on this subject so i dont offend anyone even more. this forum has shown me what kind of beauty can be brought out of these old fantastic machines. and i am trying to get the estate to let me restore her back to her true potential. and if i do convince them i will use the vast and great amounts of knowledge located here to help and guide me thru the process. i want nothing more than to have her back on the water as i have many great and found childhood memories of her. so with the mostr amount of sincerity that i can convey thru my keyboard i am truly sorry for violating posting rules that i honeslty did not research. and this is a great restoration forum and so so many beautiful old boats that i enjoy reading al of your restoration threads! you have all done amazing work and i hope that with some luck i will be able to join in on a step by step resto thread as well

Re: where should i post?

Nsra..

First of all..WELCOME ABOARD!!!!
I dont know where some peoples manners are..
I think it was cool that you had the foresight to ASK before you actually posted..

You see iboats is a large marine supply store, and as a plus has many facets, such as the paid "boats for sale" section and the "free forums" that you are now a member of..Simple, now you know and it's not a big deal....

so moving on...
What is this boat? Sounds like it is from somebody passing, so I will say "sorry"...
Please post a new thread with some details and pictures if you can..
This boat sounds very important to you and has (or seems to) have strong family attachments and memories for you..

Best of luck and again,
Welcome Aboard.

I apologize as I apparently grossly misread your intentions. Welcome to the forum. We'd certainly all appreciate seeing pics of your boat.

Re: where should i post?

I see no harm in anyone posting something related to OLDER Starcraft boats.
Things that no one can get on a retail level, or extremely hard to find items.

I frequently see members asking for such items that Iboats doesn't have, such as the transom end caps.

Wouldn't it be nice to get first crack at those items, rather than a local Craigslisting, that someone here needs, but will never see?

Maybe Iboats would like first chance to get into the old boat parts business, if not, what's the harm?

No stepping on Iboat's toes though. They've been too good to the members by letting us discuss our rebuilds, needs, and advise, in many different forums.

Re: where should i post?

Everything is a can of worms Bob. You start allowing that and every other post on here will be "I have a gimbel bearing for a '79 OMC asking $79"

Now if someone posts "I really need to find a gimbel bearing for a '79 OMC" we have no problem with someone responding "you've got a PM".

I fully understand you'r thinking, and go along with it. Things get out of hand so easily.
