when i put the earmuffs on the engine and start it the water comes out of the two lower holes on the front side of the bottom end in the first picture no water comes out of the two holes back side of the bottom end at the top just exuast in the second picture is that right o by the way when i also just pour water into the thermostat housing it comes out the holes in the first picture thanks

Well.... if you have never heard this......... V-4's hate muffs ;)

Water should come from the tell tale (overboard indicator), the prop, and on a rare occasion the two top holes pictured in your second shot. This usually happens when the mid-section leg is flooded (at the lake)

Water also leaks out of various passages in the lower unit around the seam.

The important things are the water pump, the thermostats and the water deflectors which all keep a V-4 running happy.

My V-4 idles and pumps water totally different between muffs and real lake pressure.

no i didnt know they hated muffs thanks for the info im going to try putting it in my barrel and let idol for a while and see what happens when i run it with the muffs alot of water comes from the prop and the passages you mentioned so it must be okay thanks again
