Where to attach ski/tube rope

I have a 1980 Century 190 with a swim platform on one side that makes attaching a 'Y' type ski/tube rope to the transom eyes difficult-impossible (would rub when skier or tuber goes outside wake). I'm looking for ideas of how I can reliably/safely tow a skier/tuber with this boat. Can I just get one of those rings and mount it above the outdrive in the transom? It's a Stringer drive, so I know the transom isn't as beefy as with other transom-mounted drives, so I'm concerned about pulling the ring through the transom.

Spend the money and get yourself a Bow Eye http://www.iboats.com/Boat_Parts_Ac...14414--keywords.bow eye--**********.013952717 and mount it directly above the outdrive on the transom.

It will require some investigating on where to drill, some sealant (3m 4200 or 5200) and the new bow eye...... be certain to put a plate or very large washers behind it.

Is something like this even better? http://www.iboats.com/Seadog_Transom_Mounted_Ski_Tow/dm/*******.053161767--**********.421002433--view_id.39715

You can pull a skier/tube with no problems using one of the stern eyes.
I use to pull using the one on the left; only problem with my setting though, is that when going through the wake towards the starboard side, the rope rubs the OB's lower unit:rolleyes:, and I don't like it. You won't have that issue with yours since it's an I/O.
I have a Y type rope now, and I attach it to both eyes.

Big plate behind it with big washers and lock washers in my humble opinion. Spread that load out.

I don't like the idea of pulling one sided (that is just my thoughts)
I currently pull with 2 but I did move them closer to center to avoid my swim step and ladder.
