Engine serial number 0D389001.

Basic newbie question. Where do I hook up the gauge?

I believe the bow side plug on top of the manifold.

Thanks, I found the location - I can do the test, but now I don't really know how to interpret the results, or if this is what you had in mind when you suggested a vacuum test to find out if valve adjustment is needed. Thanks again.

A Vacuum gauge can't by itself explain what is Wrong, it will provide information, but the person reading it needs to be able to determine what is going on. Think of it as an Analog Engine Scanner, the Needle being the Codes

To adjust valves, 3/4 turn past zero lash

Compression test and leak down test will tell you more than a vacuum reading

Switching to a new thread kind of discombobulates everyone.

When talking valves, seats and seals and sometimes timing, vacuum gauge can tell a lot. Just post what you see.
