Smart tabs work better than a foil.Improve hole shot, improve handling, stay on plane at lower power.reduce wander at no wake speed.Excellent factory support.Foils can do some of these things but can create problems and can't deliver all around performance.

Re: Where to buy a Chrysler prop??

:(I tried out smart tabs SX yesterday on my 1971 trihull with the 120 Chrysler.

:eek:The boat runs 5 mph slower now with them.

:)It will plain at 12 to 13 Mph instead of 16 to 17 Mph.

:)The bow does stay down and jumps out of the hole faster.

:)It does handle better in turns.

:confused:What do I do to Get my 5 MPH back.I have bolt set in hole #3

I did catch a 36 inch red drum in a fresh water lake but I dont thank that had any thing to do with the smart tabs

Re: Where to buy a Chrysler prop??

I know this is way old but here is the update on the 120 Chrysler rpm problem.
I put a 21 pitch cuped stanless prop and it now does 5200 rpm at WOT with 150 pound me and a 200 pound friend with 6 gal. of fuel.
Now the hole shot sucks but I think I will put a Hydrofoil on the engine to take care of that problem.

What is a good one that would work for that heavy old 120hp Chrysler?

Thanks Kenny

I just came upon this reply today, I noticed the same thing when I went from aluminum, to stainless, even though I dropped down in pitch, but it was better, & faster overall. By the way, I think a Doel fin is the least invasive hydrofoil. Most of the rest are bigger, or much bigger, creating extra drag, but I doubt it will help along with the Smart tabs, usually it's either, one or the other.

I do not have both,
I went with the 100 dollar more Smart tabs instead of a Hydrofoil because I was wanting atleast the same speed.
From all the good post about them I thought I would gain MPH and loose it
I hope there is a simple fix for this.

I know you don't have both! But I would have gone with the Doel Fin. By the way, if you have no power trim, & tilt, and your engine tilted too high, it works against the Smart tabs,,, Good Luck
