where to buy a flywheel?

I have a 1987 Citation 190XLS. The flywheel is bad and the biggest marine supplier around says it will take a week or so to get the flywheel and it os over $400. Is there anywhere I can look on the net to find one maybe cheaper? The motor is a 4.3L MerCruiser. Thanks.

I bought a water pump AND a perfectly good alternator from E-bay. Just find the part number and do a search for it and make sure you check the box that says "search product descriptions"

What you'll need to know is,<br />1 piece rear main seal, or 2 piece(1987 Should be 1 piece)............<br />And, the Diameter of Your Flywheel,<br />Either 12", or 14".............<br />Those are the Only variables........ At least in Your case......<br /><br />What Exactly is Wrong with the Flywheel you have Now ???????<br />If by chance it's missing Teeth,<br />You Don't need a Flywheel......<br />Just a new Ring-Gear........ About $30.00....... Avaiable at Any Auto Parts Store.......

The marine supplier you spoke of should be able to give you the part # for your model engine. If not, get the serial number from your engine and go to www.mercruiser.com. You can do parts lookups there.

I spoke with the mechanic and he informed of the same thing. He is going to pick up a new ring gear from NAPA and have it taken to the machine shop to heat and freeze it and have it put on. Thanks for the help. Thats all that was wrong, some missing teeth.

no need for freezing<br /> heat the ring gear with a torch and place it on the flywheel. hold id square while it shrinks.<br /> no need for a new assy.<br /> good luck and keep posting
