Re: where to buy OMC pin drive props?
What series is it then, I was always under the understanding that it was a stringer 800.
No series. In 1976, they were still making the original design with electric shift that they began with in 1963, and hadn't invented any other types yet, so no need for series designations. It was simply called the "OMC Sterndrive" and then there was the HP of the drive package on the exhaust housing of some years.
Once they introduced the hydromechanical shift in 79, they made two lower units - a 13 spline propshaft (400 series) and a larger lower unit with a 15 spline shaft (800 series) and therefore needed the designations for the marketing of propellers..
