Where do you guys purchase parts for your older Mercury Outboards?

I have a 73 Mercury 850 85hp. I'm in need of a distributor/ignition kit for it...

And likely sooner rather than later, I will be in need of a new steering cable, and power trim cylinders.

Not sure what you mean. A dist I might get off of Ebay, or buy bearings at my local Merc dealer and rebuild my own. Cap and rotor, ebay or reuse what I've got.

Steering cable West Marine, or local boat junk yard.

Power trim cylinders. Probably get parts at local dealer, or watch ebay, or junk yard for used if priced really good.
