Where to buy used I/O motor?

My buddy jus bought a 22ft boat with a locked up 3.0 I/O motor. he wants to replace it with a 4.3, but doesnt want to pay for a brand new one. Where can you look for a good/rebuildable used motor? are there any online sights? would a junk yard have any? any help would be appreciated. thanks

Rapido marine is oft recommended 'round these parts. Google them.

Many others: Google 'remanufactured marine engines'.

I bought a 5.7 from Daddyo's Marine in Miami and am very happy with it so far. (only 30 hours on it).

Cost was $3200 out the door. Came with new manifolds, risers, carb, and complete electronic IGN. (wires, plugs, dist)
