Where to find Impeller for 1963 Evinrude 40HP Lark

Does anyone know where I can buy parts for a 1963 Evinrude 40hp Lark. I need an impeller or impeller repair kit. Calling around has not worked to find it. Everyone says too old. I am in South Florida. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Any OMC dealer should be able to order that. It's not to old.

Plus NAPA autoparts, and quite a few places online, as Sierra aftermarket part 18-3083 (Impeller only, equivalant of OEM PN 377230). Getting an OEM repair kit from your dealer would be a better idea since you get a new wear plate and grommet with that.<br /><br />Good luck!

Thanks for the info guys, but I have already found that I can order the impeller alone from Sierra, but no one seems to know where to get the OEM repair kit I need for it. I have called several OEM repair and parts places in the area here and they all said no, except one guy said if I have the part #, he might be able to cross refrence it and get it. But can't find a part # for the repair kit, only the impeller alone. Do you know the part # for the repair kit?<br /><br />(doesn't make sense that I am having trouble finding it locally in Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area with the amount of boats here.<br /><br />Thanks for the help.

PN 379775 available here. Seems kind of pricey though. The way some parts departments go you'd think they were doing you some great favor. R.Johnson's right, any OMC dealer should get one for you.<br /><br />EDIT: Oh, I think that includes the pump housing too. That would explain the price.

RK,<br />You can probably get it from Mastertech. If not, a local place, (Miami) is Bob Hewes (305) 681-6602. Laing's Outboards in upstate NY is a good source, (for all OMC parts), as well. Hey Butch and/or anyone else that can help,<br /><br />I got the water pump kit.. but I think I am not able to do the job myself. I cannot even seem to get the plug screw out to drain the oil with the old screwdriver I have. I probably don't have the right tools and although I have a manual, I find it difficult to be sure what I have to do. I would like to learn how to do it, not just pay someone to do it. I am willing to pay if I can watch.. Do you know where I should look for help to do the work? The boat and I am in Hallandale, FL.<br /><br />Thanks....Ron

There's nothing worse than a lousy screwdriver. <br />Don't let the drain screws get the better of you! For stuck screws, of which your engine will have plenty, you need one of these.<br /><br />Heat from a propane or mapp torch and penetrating oil help too, but the tool pictured above is your best bet.
