I'm new here to this forum,,, I being over in the repair fix it Johnson/Evinrude forum for the last week. I'm fixing up a 1974 Johnson 6hp model 6R74-C.
I would like to paint the whole motor ( just outside ) The cowl is white and the rest is a greenish and seems to have a goldesh tint in the green but I guess you could call it green but not a dark or forest green. I dont want to buy any expensive paint that I need a spay gun... I guess want some paint you spay on outa the can. And the decals of course I would like to be as original as possible. Would anybody have any suggestions. Thank You ...

As far as I know, the gold/green paint is discontinued. If you have a good section of paint on the motor, an auto paint store can match it; but there goes the cheap out of it. Some will even put it in rattle cans for you.

Tempo is a brand of marine paint that probably makes a rattle can in that color. As far as the decals .... ebay and someone else here knows of a web site and is sure to post it.
